Battle of Assaye:  Major General Arthur Wellesley’s (later the Duke of Wellington) important defeat of the Mahratta army on 23rd September 1803, opening the way for the British conquest of Central India.

Battle of Laswaree:  The triumph of British and Bengal light cavalry: General Lake’s defeat of the Gwalior Mahrattas on 1st November 1803, after capturing Delhi, the future capital city of British-ruled India.
