Today (28th April 2014) took in military memorials in Medmenham Church, Buckinghamshire.

Stained glass window dedicated to Lt Col Murray-Pirie DSO.  Won his award at Omdurman 2nd September 1898, killed in Palestine 1917 in the First World War, commanding the Berkshire Yeomanry.

First World War memorial naming the 23 members of the village killed in action.

The Church houses the RAF colour for RAF Photographic Command, housed in Danesfield House in WW2.  The Luftwaffe dropped one bomb on the station, which missed and landed in the village a mile away.

Perhaps the most touching memorial is the one dated Easter Day 1919, commemorating the end of the Great War.
